In this blog we update on the progress of the selection of our new World Class Performance Showjumping Manager, after Rob Heokstra’s contract ends in January 2015. The mystery continues. We also dig a bit deeper into the much popularised subject of our lack of Grand Prix horses in the UK at present. The issue seems to be that we do not have a big enough pool of horses at this level or coming up to this level. Britain are well known for producing horses and with the huge prices being offered for potential Grand Prix horses they are inevitably sold abroad before they reach their top potential. So where are the British owners, why are they not buying them, and whose responsibility is it to ensure the UK builds a competitive and sustainable industry at the top end? Are these even the right questions?
