We did not fare so well as the previous 2 years and this is a great leveller at managing hopes and expectations and coping with disappointment.
This is a wonderful show with the top 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 year old horses in Britain competing. Every rider, owner and trainer attending with high hopes. The courses are testing. This is not a time to be schooling a young horse, they have to have to be at the top of their age group. This year Tim Price introduced a grass arena as one of the two qualifying phases rather than both qualifying days on the all weather surface and this certainly produced some challenges.
